BookMyShow, a movie ticketing platform, wanted to promote one of Bollywood's biggest ever releases - Padmaavati.

Padmaavati is the story of a mythological Hindu Queen. The movie was controversial to say the least. Certain religious and political groups in India did not want this film to be released. There were protests, death threats and even riots. After months of back and forth, the Censor Board of India finally cleared the film. But the name of the film needed to change. So Padmaavati became... Padmaavat. That’s it. They literally just had to drop the last letter and it was good to go! All parties were satisfied!

We made light of this ridiculous situation, and turned around this film in 4 days. It went on to become one of the most shared ads of the year and won us an Effie.

The success of this one proactive film completely changed our relationship with the client. We made topical animated content our social strategy. We created over a dozen videos through the year. It got us PR, brand engagement and millions of organic views.
